-Discuss Lesson Objectives
-Review Reference Publications with the Student
-Review FAR Requirements for IFR flight
--Before beginning any IFR flight, the pilot must obtain and become familiar with information about weather reports and forecasts, fuel requirements, alternatives available if the planned flight cannot be completed, any known traffic delays, runway lengths at airports of intended use, and takeoff and landing distance information.
-Review charts, publications and plates:
--Low altitude airway charts
--Terminal charts
--Airport/Facility Directory
--Approach Plates
--SIDS and STARS
-Answer Student Questions

-Discuss Lesson Objectives
-Listen, Take Notes, and Ask Questions
-Review Reference Material

-The student should have the ability to explain IFR publication requirements.
-Lack of appropriate reference material.
